Redness & Rosacea

Redness & Rosacea

What causes facial redness?

Facial redness can develop for several reasons, but persistent redness and frequent flushing are often linked to rosacea, a chronic inflammatory skin condition that affects the skin’s vascular and immune response.

In rosacea-prone skin, the small blood vessels (capillaries) in the face become more reactive and dilated. This can lead to flushing, ongoing redness, and sometimes visible thread veins. The skin barrier is also often more fragile, making the skin more sensitive to environmental triggers and skincare products.

Over time, ongoing inflammation can affect skin texture and increase overall sensitivity, which is why early management and barrier support are important.

At Auraline Aesthetics, our goal is not simply to reduce redness temporarily, but to understand the underlying triggers and support long-term skin health through calm, medically guided treatment.

Genetic predisposition

Changes in the skin’s immune and inflammatory response

Impaired or weakened skin barrier function

UV exposure and environmental stress

Temperature changes, alcohol, spicy foods, or stress

Harsh skincare products or over-exfoliation

What symptoms should i look for?

Redness and rosacea-prone skin often develops gradually, and many people first notice that their skin becomes more reactive or flushes more easily than it used to.

Persistent redness may appear across the cheeks, nose or central face, sometimes accompanied by a feeling of warmth or heat in the skin. Small visible blood vessels, often called thread veins, may also become more noticeable over time.

The skin can feel sensitive, easily irritated, or prone to burning, stinging or tight sensations, particularly when using certain skincare products. Many people find their skin becomes dry and reactive, struggling to tolerate products that once felt comfortable.

Flushing may also worsen with common triggers such as heat, alcohol, exercise or stress, and in some cases small rosacea-associated bumps or breakouts can appear alongside the redness.

Treatments commonly used to address Redness & Rosacea

Depending on your skin assessment, a combination of the following treatments may be recommended

A personalised, medical-led approach

Redness and rosacea-prone skin should always be managed with a medical-led, individualised approach.

At Auraline Aesthetics, we assess your skin barrier health, vascular response, lifestyle triggers and current skincare routine to understand the root cause of your redness. This allows us to create a bespoke treatment plan focused on calming inflammation, strengthening the skin barrier and improving long-term skin resilience.

Our goal is to help your skin become stronger, calmer and more balanced over time, rather than simply masking redness temporarily.

If you are experiencing persistent redness, sensitivity or rosacea-like symptoms, a professional skin assessment is the first step to understanding your skin and developing a treatment plan that supports long-term skin health.
